Baldur’s Gate 3 Voice Cast Join Host of Gaming Talent at MCM Birmingham Comic Con
Birmingham, Thursday 6th November: Following a jam-packed London event last month, ReedPop are excited to announce that stars of Baldur’s Gate 3 Jennifer English, Aliona Baranova and Devora Wilde will join co-stars Neil Newbon and Tim Downie, as well as a host of other video game voice actors and celebrities attending MCM Birmingham Comic Con from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th November.
Recognisable voice talent will take part in photo opportunities and signings across the event, including:
From Baldur’s Gate 3:
- Neil Newbon
- Neil Newbon is best known for his performances in Baldur’s Gate 3, where he voices Astarion. This role earned him a nomination for the 2024 BAFTA Games Award for ‘Performer in a Leading Role’. His work in the gaming world also includes standout performances in Detroit: Become Human, Final Fantasy XVI, and Resident Evil Village.
- Neil will be available for autographs and photo ops on Friday and Saturday.
- Tim Downie
- Beloved for his voice work as the caring and pragmatic, yet cursed human wizard, Gale, in Baldur’s Gate 3, Tim Downie has also had a successful career in film and television. Tim began his television career with an appearance in a 1994 episode of police drama The Bill, and has gone on to have regular roles in series such as Outlander, Geek Girl, Upstart Crow, Good Omens and Toast of London.
- Tim will be available for autographs and photo ops for all three days of the show.
- Jennifer English
- Jennifer brings Shadowheart’s internal struggle to life, as the Half-Elf cleric wrestles with her devotion to an evil goddess while also being dedicated to her companions. Baldur’s Gate 3 is not the only award-winning game in which she has played a role, as Jennifer also voices Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Latenna in From Soft’s Elden Ring.
- Jennifer will be available for autographs and photo ops on Saturday and Sunday.
- Aliona Baranova
- Aliona’s vocal talent sees her voicing a diverse range of characters from Corinna the squirrel to Xeph the Tiefling refugee in Baldur’s Gate 3. Aliona also plays the role of Marie in the critically acclaimed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Magda in the new feature film, Reawakening.
- Aliona will be available for autographs and photo ops on Saturday and Sunday.
- Devora Wilde
- Devora voices Lae’zel, the mean, green, mindflayer-hunting machine. She gives the character a certain sneering charm, which caused many players to side with her, despite her brutal tendencies. Devora is also an accomplished TV actor, appearing in shows such as Hollyoaks and Pandora.
- Devora will be available for autographs and photo ops on Saturday and Sunday.
- The cast will take to the Live Stage together on Saturday November 29 at 3:15PM for a panel exploring stories from the making of the hit game.
From Super Mario:
- Charles Martinet
- Best known for voicing the titular character, Mario, in the Super Mario video game series from 1991 to 2023, Charles secured the career-defining role for himself when he crashed the voice auditions as the casting team was packing up to end the day. His first major role in a mainline Super Mario game was 1996’s Super Mario 64, in which he established many of the mannerisms and catchphrases Mario is famous for today. In addition to Mario, Charles also voiced Luigi, Wario, Waluigi and other characters in the Super Mario franchise - as well as the dragon Paarthunax in 2011’s Skyrim.
- Charles Martinet will be available for photo opportunities and autographs, and will be taking to the Main Stage at 12:30pm Saturday 29 November for a panel diving into his vocal inspirations and techniques, as well as stories from the development of some of the world’s most beloved games. This panel will be free for all Saturday and Weekend ticket holders.
From Silent Hill 2:
- Luke Roberts
- Luke is best recognised from his portrayal of the main protagonist of the 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2, James Sunderland. In addition to his voice work, Luke also starred as the legendary knight, Ser Arthur Dayne, in Game of Thrones, and the historical privateer, Woodes Rogers, in Black Sails.
- Salóme Gunnarsdóttir
- Salóme brought to life the enigmatic characters of Mary Shepherd-Sunderland and Maria in the 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2. She has also had an extensive career in TV, playing Melaine in The Wheel of Time, Greta in The Lazarus Project and Patricia Wayne in Pennyworth.
- The duo will attend MCM Comic Con on the Saturday and Sunday of the show for purchasable autographs and photo opportunities.
From Marvel’s Spider-Man
- Nadji Jeter
- The American actor is best known for providing the voice and motion capture for Miles Morales in the PlayStation 5 games, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, with his performance in the series’ second instalment bagging him Best Performer in a Leading Role at the 2024 BAFTA Video Game Awards. This marks his first appearance at MCM Birmingham.
- Nadji will be at MCM Birmingham Comic Con in the NEC from November 28 - 30 and will be available for photo opportunities and autographs.
