Benedict Cumberbatch, Buffy Star Alyson Hannigan and Baywatch Legend Pamela Anderson Leads Star Studded Line-Up at London Film & Comic Con
Popular Convention Returns to London’s Olympia On Friday 28 to Sunday 30 July
London, 4 July, 2017: Showmasters, leading organisers of Film & Comic Con’s in the UK and Europe, today announced a stellar line-up of stars for the London Film & Comic Con taking place on Friday 28 July to Sunday 30 July at Olympia.
Benedict Cumberbatch, famed for his roles as Sherlock and Doctor Strange; Alyson Hannigan, star of cult hit Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in March this year, and Baywatch legend Pamela Anderson lead a spectacular line-up. Other guest confirmed from TV & Film include Wil Wheaton from Star Trek and the Big Bang Theory; Robert Llewellyn from Red Dwarf; Richard Dean Anderson from Stargate SG1 and MacGyver; Christopher Lloyd from Back to the Future; John Cleese, famed for Monty Python; Zoe Wanamaker; Terence Stamp; Robert Hardy; Sir Derek Jacobi and stars from Iron Fist, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Luke Cage, Defenders, Star Wars, Stargate SG1 and more.
Running alongside London Film & Comic Con for the fourth year running is YALC, the UK’s Young Adult Literature Convention. Designed to celebrate the very best in young adult books, authours announced for 2017 include Rubyetc, author of the internet sensation It’s All Absolutely Fine, Gemma Cairney of Open: A Toolkit for How Magic and Messed Up Life Can Be and David Owen of The Fallen Children are just some of the literary guests attending this year.
Drawing on more than 15 years’ experience in organising Film & Comic Cons, Showmasters has included several exciting feature elements to the show at Olympia:
- The Gaming Zone: gaming fans can enjoy and play a mix of modern and retro gaming including some of the latest PS4, Xbox One and virtual reality titles next to retro games like Pong. The gaming zone will also feature a specific Minecraft zone running custom maps in creative and survival modes and a LAN gaming zone with titles such as Quake, Command and Conquer and Counter Strike to play.
- The Cosplay Masquerade: a staple of every Showmasters’ event, the masquerade offers fans the opportunity to be in the spotlight and the chance to win a grand prize of £1000 on Saturday.
- The Comic Zone: an event within an event, the Comic Zone is a vast wonderland where fans and newcomers can explore the myriad worlds of comic books. Comic guests include David Hine (Batman, X-Men, Spider-Man), Kieron Gillen (Wicked + Divine, Darth Vader, Iron Man) and Tommy Yune (Robotech, Speed Racer, Voltron) among other big names in Comics.
