ESIC Release Survey on Appropriate Sanction for Cheating in Esports

16 May 2017: The Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) has today released a survey to canvas opinion on the appropriate sanctions for those caught cheating in esports.

Following recent controversy over various sanctions and decisions relating to cheating in esports, ESIC released a detailed position paper on this matter on the 3April 2017. Following on from this, ESIC has created a survey to attempt to form some consistency across the esports industry based on the consensus of the esports community.

The survey will only take a couple of minutes to complete, results will remain anonymous and will stay open until 31 May 2017. Following the closing date, ESIC will analyse the results and publish the overall result and conclusion.

“Esports is a community driven medium and therefore it makes sense to canvas opinion from the wider esports community,” commented Ian Smith, Integrity Commissioner for the Esports Integrity Coalition. “Following the conclusion of the survey I hope we can come to a consensus on how to sanction cheats in esports and create a level of consistency that is deemed fair by the industry.”
