Esports Integrity Coalition Hosts Inaugural ‘Future of Esports in Las Vegas’ Summit

Positive First Steps Taken to Making Vegas the Home of Esports

The Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) hosted the first ‘Future of Esports in Las Vegas’ summit on Tuesday 14 February at the university of Nevada Las Vegas.

The aim of the summit was for key esports stakeholders and key city and state officials to meet and discuss a potential strategy, policy and initiatives that will accelerate the growth and value of esports in Las Vegas, and jointly assist in Las Vegas’ express intention to become the esports capital of the world.

The behind closed doors summit was chaired by ESIC’s integrity commissioner, Ian Smith, and was attended by, amongst others, the following:

A.G. Burnett (Chairman Nevada State Gaming Control Board); Sam McMullen (CEO and Founding Partner FiveGen); Rahul Sood (CEO and Co-Founder of Unikrn); Prof Brett Abarbanel (Director of Research IGI); Chris Grove (Partner Narus Advisors); Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros (CEO ICSS Europe); Katie Simmonds (Director of Sports Governance and Financial Integrity ICSS Europe); Seth Schoor (CEO Downtown Grand); Carson Knuth (Co-Founder of Leet LLC and Co-owner, Rogue Esports); Blaine Graboyes (CEO GameCo); Jen Maldonado (Manager, Support Insights and Training Activision); Johnathan Wendel (Fatal1ty); Hai Ng (Co-Founder Spawn Point)

“This summit marks a positive first step in Las Vegas’ ambition to be the home of esports,” commented Ian Smith. “All stakeholders were given the opportunity to have their say and initially we share a lot of common ground and there are no obvious barriers to moving forward.”

“Following this constructive meeting, the group will continue the discussion at a second summit where we aim to involve more casinos and more publishers.”
