Industry Veteran Pawel Selinger Joins PixelAnt Games as Art Director

Thursday 2 September: PixelAnt Games and Sumo Digital have today announced that industry veteran Pawel Selinger has joined the Poland-based studio after more than 20 years at Techland, where he served as Art Director and Writer.

Pawel has joined PixelAnt Games as Art Director and will support the creation of the studio’s first own IP, from providing artistic leadership to influencing creative direction and crafting game narrative.

He joined Techland in 1998, serving as Lead Artist, Art Director and later as a Writer on Dying Light 2. Pawel worked across many Techland releases, including multiple entries in the Dead Island and Call of Juarez series, as well as the original instalment of Dying Light.

“I’m excited to join the growing team at PixelAnt Games as I start an exciting new chapter in my career,” said Selinger. “It’s very clear to me that this is a team destined for great things, and I can’t wait to start working with the creative team on our upcoming projects.”

PixelAnt Games was founded in 2020 by Pawel Rohleder and Adam Lason and was acquired by Sumo Digital in February 2021, becoming the tenth business within the international family of studios. The studio implements ’Gamedev 2.0’, a philosophy which promotes a smarter way of making games by fostering a stable, healthy, and value-driven environment, reflecting the wider goals of the Sumo Digital family. The team at PixelAnt Games combine game development with the best software delivery practices to shape exciting AAA projects across multiple platforms.

“I’m delighted to welcome Pawel Selinger to the studio,” said PixelAnt Games Co-Founder and Studio Director Pawel Rohleder. “He is a very valuable addition to the team and having worked together previously for many years, I know first-hand how much impact Pawel will make as he joins us as Art Director. I’m confident that with him on board, we will really hit the ground running as we progress the development of our first own IP.”

PixelAnt Games is currently beginning work on its first original IP, which is being developed in Unreal Engine. This latest project is the catalyst for further studio growth, with multiple opportunities available to join the team across various disciplines. The studio recently hosted the first in a series of virtual open days to discuss development practices and promote knowledge sharing, featuring talks from PixelAnt Games industry veterans including Marcin Piaskiewicz and Mateusz Piaskiewicz.
