IO Interactive celebrates 25 Years of Hitman by releasing HITMAN World of Assassination - Anniversary Box and hosting a Special Livestream on October 21

During the Anniversary, players will be able to play the Bruce Lee Elusive Target mission, available in HITMAN World of Assassination until November 20th. In addition, Hitman catalogue titles are currently on sale with discounts of up to 90%, with further Hitman-related activities scheduled to take place.

Copenhagen, Denmark, October 17, 2025 - IO Interactive, the independent video game developer and publisher behind, among others, the internationally acclaimed HITMANfranchise, has released today a special PlayStation 5 physical-only limited edition 25^th Anniversary Box for HITMAN World of Assassination to mark the anniversary of the series. 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of Hitman, a milestone celebrating a legacy of creative stealth and unforgettable assassinations. The latest entry of the franchise, HITMAN World of Assassination, has welcomed more than 80 million players and surpassed 25 million sales, cementing Hitman’s place as one of gaming’s most enduring and acclaimed franchises.

This special release features an exclusive shadowbox, a special visual for the PS5 game case, four highly acclaimed celebrity DLCs (The Undying, The Drop, The Splitter, and The Banker), along with a collectible Lenticular Art Card celebrating the franchise’s legacy.

Bruce Lee Elusive Target

Last month, IO Interactive launched the latest Elusive Target mission, which sees players join forces with martial arts legend Bruce Lee to take down “The Dragon”. This mission will remain live until November 20. A series of updates to improve the mission, based on the community feedback, will be released later in October, including a reduction to the Arcade mode cooldown timer, now set to 30 minutes instead of 12 hours when a mission is failed. The Bruce Lee DLC Pack is also available until November 20, giving permanent access to the Elusive Target through the Arcade mode, a new suit, 3 new items, and a set of four cosmetics for the Freelancer Safehouse inspired by the Elusive Target. Franchise Sale

The Hitman titles across the franchise are currently up to 90% off on Steam as part of the Fall Sales, a great time for players to revisit or begin their journey in the shoes of Agent 47.

PC VR Update

HITMAN World of Assassination received a massive update for VR, bringing all of the same features available on PS VR2 to PC: dual-wield weapons, interact with disguises, and use their environment creatively thanks to intuitive motion controls, full ambidexterity, and room-scale implementation. A new patch, adding graphical fixes and general improvements, is set to be released by the end of October. Players who own HITMAN World of Assassination on PC can download the PC VR mode for free now.

iPhone and iPad Launch

HITMAN World of Assassination is now available on iPhone and iPad, bringing the complete experience to mobile for the first time. This mobile release brings the complete HITMAN sandbox experience to iPhone and iPad, with every location and mission available, as well as the fan-favourite Freelancer mode. HITMAN World of Assassination will be on sale from October 21^stto October 27^th on the Apple Store, with a 40% discount on the full version of HITMAN World of Assassination. A free version of the game, giving access to the tutorial and the Sebastian Principle Escalation in Dubai, can be downloaded right now.

Anniversary Livestream

IO Interactive has announced a special livestream on October 21 at 3pm CET via the official HITMAN Twitch channel, featuring a look back at the franchise’s 25-year legacy and appearances from surprise guests.

Comic Con Denmark Panel

IO Interactive will take the stage at Comic Con Denmark on Sunday, November 16, for a special Hitman developer panel celebrating nearly two decades of creative evolution in the World of Assassination. The 45-minute session will feature four veteran developers from IOI, representing design, narrative, and production disciplines, each with over a decade of experience shaping Agent 47’s world. Together, the panelists will share insights from the studio’s award-winning work on the Hitman franchise, exploring how IO Interactive continues to refine the art of stealth, storytelling, and creative freedom.

BAFTA Games in Concert

BAFTA has announced BAFTA Games in Concert, a landmark live event celebrating two decades of award-winning video game music, set to debut at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 31 January 2026. The concert will feature the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Austin Wintory, performing iconic scores including Hitman Contractsby Jesper Kyd, alongside music from other gaming franchises.
