poncle announces ‘Vampire Crawlers’, the first Vampire Survivors spin-off, coming 2026

20 November 2025: From the somehow triple-BAFTA‑winning creators of Vampire Survivors, ‘Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors’ is a casual, turbo turn‑based deckbuilder spin-off of Vampire Survivors coming to Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android in 2026.

Vampire Crawlers turns the snowballing thrill of Vampire Survivors into a turbo turn‑based, card‑driven BLOBBER with rogue-lite elements. Expect to crawl through dungeons, collect shiny coins and crystals, and deal screen shattering card combos.

Announced during this evening’s Xbox Showcase with a slick new trailer that opens with an ultra realistic Poe showcasing everything Vampire Crawlers IS NOT, the wildcard launches on PC, mobile and consoles in 2026 - with other platforms potentially to follow (except smart fridges, for now).

Vampire Crawlers will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass Premium and Ultimate! Hooray!

Overview

In a dark world, a new adventure begins. Explore maps, level up powers, kill monsters. Find treasures.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors turns the snowballing thrill of Vampire Survivors into a turbo turn‑based, card‑driven BLOBBER with rogue-lite elements. Build busted decks, explore familiar dungeons from a new perspective, and unleash world‑ending combos. Either take your time and be tactical, or play turns as fast as you humanly can: the outcome is always accurate!

What is Vampire Crawlers about

  • Snowballing, turn‑based carnage: Play cards in ascending mana order to land combos; each step multiplies the next card’s effect. Use Wilds to extend the stack and keep going to 10, 20, 30… Can you reach infinite without shattering the screen?
  • Pick your pace: The turbo turn-based engine provides accurate outcomes regardless of the speed at which you prefer to play: enjoy the effects of your cards one by one, or generate unhinged chaos by playing as fast as you can!
  • Deck-Building: Accumulate experience and level up to gain new cards, headbutt chests for customization gems and power‑ups; chase weapon evolutions and summon survivors to trigger cascade of effects and break the game.
  • Crawling: Explore multi‑floor dungeons packed with something seldom seen in Vampire Survivors: functioning walls. And then all sorts of treasures and interactions. Find the shovel to dig down into the next floor, that might, obviously, take place in the clouds!

“I have accumulated more than 3000 hours of playtime on Vampire Survivors over the years, and I’m still counting,” said Luca Galante, Company Director at poncle, "Vampire Crawlers isn’t even released and is already on the same trajectory for me!”

With Vampire Crawlers, poncle has officially started a series of spin-offs of Vampire Survivors.

The idea is to take some of the core pillars behind the development of Vampire Survivors and to apply them to existing genres: accessibility, immediacy, affordability, replayability, lightheartedness, and tons of sparkly stuff. While the core poncle team keeps working on a secret project for the future of Vampire Survivors, the spin-offs concepts are made in collaboration with other indie studios.

About poncle

poncle is a small game dev studio founded by Luca Galante, based in London. After cutting his teeth (fangs?) on a series of HTML5 projects, Luca developed Vampire Survivors as a pandemic pastime, hoping to improve his skills as a developer. The game was an unexpected smash hit and has gathered a massive cult following. Today poncle is a merry band of programmers, designers, artists and other game-making folks, working in dialogue with their community of players to make Vampire Survivors the best it can be. poncle has also started its own publishing arm, focusing on supporting devs who make great games and helping them get their games out into the world, such as Berserk or Die and Kill the Brickman.
