Sumo Group Celebrates three Wins at Develop:Star Awards
Thursday 28 October 2021 – Today, Sumo Group celebrates three wins at the Develop: Star Awards, including Best Studio for Sumo Digital, and a win for EDI Manager Leon Killin at the Game Dev Heroes Awards.
The Develop:Star Awards take place annually to recognise extraordinary studio talent and the year’s games, while Game Dev Heroes shines a spotlight on the incredible people working within the games industry.
Sumo Group businesses received nominations across a range of categories for the Develop:Star awards and came away with three awards: Best Studio for Sumo Digital, Best Mobile Game for The Chinese Room’s Little Orpheus and Best Creative Provider for Atomhawk.
“We’re delighted to be taking home a total of four awards from Brighton, it’s been a fantastic year at Sumo Group and we are so proud of everything our teams continue to achieve.” said Carl Cavers.
Sumo Digital received six nominations at the Game Dev Heroes awards for team members within the Sumo family, with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Manager Leon Killin taking home the award for Progression Advocate.
“It’s so important to us at Sumo to see our people recognised for the work they put into our games and for continuing to push the boundaries of creativity in the wider industry,” says Gary Dunn. “We are proud to have seen several of our team nominated as Game Dev Heroes.”
