THE YU-GI-OH! CARD GAME WORLD CHAMPIONS FOR 2024 HAVE BEEN CROWNED
LOS ANGELES – September 9, 2024 – Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. (KONAMI) The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship (WCS) 2024 reached its thrilling conclusion on Sunday, September 8, at the Fremont Studios in Seattle, Washington. The highly anticipated tournament, returning to American soil for the first time in nearly a decade, crowned World Champions in four different, exciting categories.
In the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Main Event, Ruben Penaranda from the United States prevailed in the final, defeating Mark Solis from the United States to take home the title of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Champion 2024.
For the first time ever, Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS featured two World Champions. The Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS: SPEED DUEL final was hotly contested between Sebastian “Shelmy” Villarroel from Bolivia and Takuma Kiramura from Japan. The Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS: RUSH DUEL official tournament was held for the first time since RUSH DUEL was introduced in Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS last year. Marc-Andre “QuantumCubes” Ladouceur-Kirkor from Canada battled Gabriel “Volaton” Tan from Singapore for the title, but Ladouceur-Kirkor eventually emerged victorious.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL WCS held for the second time, with a 3v3 team event, culminating in an amazing result. The final saw snipehunters face up against Team 7. It ended 5-1 in the favour of Team 7, with Ryan Yu, Jesse Kotton, and Raymond Dai becoming the newest set of Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL World Champions.
The winners of each of the four categories received special World Champion trophies. The top four Duelists in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS categories and the winning Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL team received a Dragon of Illumination, Sanctuary's Shield exclusively awarded to the top WCS Duelists, and a unique WCS 2024 rubber Game Mat and a slew of other prizes.

A new world will be released on Oct. 1 for Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS:
A short teaser trailer aired during the WCS livestream that gave Duelists a small glimpse of what to expect in the next Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS Update coming on Oct 1. GO RUSH!! World is coming to Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS and with it the introduction of “Fusion Summoning” in RUSH DUEL. Plus, a new in-game feature “Chronicle Card” will make its debut.
More information on in-game campaigns, rewards, and features will be revealed at a later date.
