Toy Fair 2017 Sold Out
Industry showcase sells out almost four months prior to door opening as organiser announces charity partnership with KidsOut
6 October 2016: Toy Fair organiser, the British Toy and Hobby Association, today announced the annual UK industry showcase exhibition has sold out its entire exhibitor space at London’s Olympia in January.
Returning to its Tuesday – Thursday format, the exhibition has sold out almost four months prior to the doors opening on 24 January.
“I’d like to thank the industry for the support they have shown Toy Fair on returning to the Tuesday-Thursday format,” commented Majen Immink, Head of Toy Fair Operations and Sales. “With Toy Fair sold out this early, I’m looking forward to seeing the exciting and innovative products set to be launched in January.”
On the same day, the BTHA also announced the renewal of its charity partnership with KidsOut for a second year.
The partnership will see KidsOut providing volunteers to take part in the annual Trolley Dash which takes place on the final afternoon of Toy Fair. Exhibitors are encouraged to donate any unwanted or excess stock to the charity’s volunteers who will be pushing trolleys through the aisles of Olympia.
“KidsOut were amazed by the success of last year’s Toy Fair and especially the generosity of exhibitors participating in the Trolley Dash,” commented Julian Margolin, KidsOut Chief Ambassador. “We are delighted to be invited to be the official Charity of the Toy Fair again in 2017. This partnership means we can continue to expand our Toy Box service for children affected by domestic abuse, providing comfort and stability when they need it most.”
Immink added, ““We’re pleased to welcome back KidsOut as our official charity partner for 2017,” commented Majen Immink, Head of Toy Fair Operations and Sales. “The Trolley Dash is an important event which marks the end of Toy Fair and after hearing on the amount of happiness the donations provided to those children less fortunate, it was an easy decision to partner with KidsOut again.”
Hundreds of toys were donated by Toy Fair exhibitors earlier this year which made parts of KidsOut’s Toy Boxes that are sent out to children when they are relocated from refuge. The toys that were too large for the Toy Boxes were donated to local refuges for use in playrooms. Both the Toy Boxes and donations to the playrooms have made an enormous difference to underfunded shelters.
Toy Fair takes place from Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 January 2017 at London’s Olympia.
