Writers Block is back, with over 50 authors at MCM Comic Con this weekend
London, Wednesday 20th of May: With just a few days to go until Europe’s largest geek and pop culture convention returns toLondon from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th May, MCM Comic Con has secured a long list of writing titans and best-selling authors who can be visited at this year’s Writer’s Block!
Writer’s Block offers the opportunity to meet authors, have beloved books signed, take part in exciting writing workshops, attend panels, and get inspired - it’s the place to be for budding authors, intrepid readers or anyone looking to dive into literature.
With more than 50 confirmed authors attending, here are just a few of that literature fans will be able to meet and hear from in panels:
Brandon Sanderson
Brandon Sanderson is a Hugo award winner and best-selling author, most known for ‘The Stormlight Archive’ series and ‘Mistborn’. He’s spent years building intricate systems of magic alongside fleshed out words filled with intrigue, as well as penning several novels in ‘The Wheel of Time’ series. This year, Brandon Sanderson will be hosting the “Brandon Sanderson Spotlight” panel on Saturday, 23rd of May from 2:00pm-3:30pm at the main stage, opening up an engaging conversation on the process behind writing an epic fantasy. This panel is free to attend, but requires reservation.
Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti
Caroline Peckham is a number one Wall Street Journal bestselling author, best known for her ‘Zodiac Academy’ universe, penned alongside her sister Susanne Valenti, who was nominated for the Goodreads Choice Awards for ‘Sorrow and Starlight’. This year at MCM Comic Con London, Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti will be coming together to host a panel on Friday, 22nd of May from 1:00pm-1:45pm on the Capital Stage, sharing insights on co-authoring both the Zodiac Academy and Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac. They will delve into what it takes to create an epic fantasy romance, and build fiercely loyal fans and communities. This panel will be available to attend for all ticket holders free of charge.
RJ Barker
RJ Barker is a winner of the British Fantasy Society’s Robert Holdstock Award for Best Fantasy Novel for ‘The Bone Ships’ in 2020, going on to establish a trilogy of epic fantasy novels in the series.
Nicholas Binge
Nicholas Binge is best known for ‘Ascension’, nominated for the Goodreads Choice Awards and the Ignotus Award. A speculative fiction author, Nicholas blends sci-fi cosmic horror mystery with psychological thriller.E.S McLeod
E.S. McLeod is known best for Andromeda, and her work as a podcaster, winning several nominations for the novels Rapunzella, Or, Don’t Touch My Hair and The Map That Led to You. In her latest release, she fuses Greek mythology with dangerous, rebellious romance as she retells the story of Princess Andromeda.
