Can’t make it to the Edinburgh Fringe? Swing by the MCM Fringe Stage this May!

London, Thursday 1 May: There’s just under a month until MCM Comic Con, Europe’s biggest pop and geek culture event, returns to Excel London - and ReedPop is proud to present a range of off the wall programming to suit all tastes on the convention’s Fringe stage.

Despite its name, The Fringe Stage is central to ReedPop’s ethos of nurturing creativity within the MCM community, and is the place for talented fans and up and coming acts to shine. The stage’s schedule is packed with the wackiest performances the community has to offer, including live music, comedy, dance and interactive entertainment.

Visitors to MCM Comic Con’s Fringe Stage are in for an out of this world experience, with acts such as:

  • Ten Thousand Pounds a Year: Regency Dance Class with Counts to Nine Productions
    • Friday, 2:30pm-3:20pm
    • Has Bridgerton left you a little hot around the collar for Regency ballrooms (and libraries)? Dancers of all experience levels are invited to learn some of the beautiful dances of the Regency. No experience necessary, all steps and dances will be taught, along with some insight into the ballrooms of the period.
  • Dorks and Orks
    • Friday, 3:30pm-4:20pm
    • Dorks n Orks- the comedy panel show for goblins and geeks. Imagine ‘Dungeons and Dragons… but funny. Imagine Lord of the Rings… but shorter. Imagine Game of Thrones… but without the budget. Or nudity!
  • Cosplay Karaoke
    • Friday, 4.30pm
    • Back by popular demand, it’s your favourite session of the weekend! The only place you’ll see Wonderwoman growling along to Bring Me the Horizon, or Deadpool smashing out the Heathers soundtrack. Sign up at the Fringe Stage by 2pm to take part, very limited places available!
  • The Ogretones
    • Saturday, 11:00am-12:00pm
    • Hailing from the swamps of Hampshire, The Ogretones are the UK's #1 musical tribute to the Shrek soundtracks. Featuring multiple vocalists and a brass section, this 8-piece band has created a show that's truly unique and not to be missed.
  • The Gallifrey Cabaret
    • Saturday, 3:15pm-4:15pm
    • Since materialising on Earth in 2021, THE GALLIFREY CABARET has swiftly become a runaway cult smash. Inspired by the greatest show in the galaxy - DOCTOR WHO - they whisk audiences away a drag and variety adventure through time and space. Camp, chaotic, and completely cosmic -- the universe is here, and it's hella queer!
  • Extra Lives
    • Saturday, 4.40pm and Sunday, 12pm
    • The world’s first Audience RPG, featuring live music from classic console games and a twisty turny adventure that will leave you wanting more! Follow along and make all the decisions on this epic quest!
  • Side Quest: The Fantasy Comedy RPG
    • Sunday 2:50pm-3:40pm

Fill in a character sheet then watch your creations spring to life as they embark on an epic quest (or go way off track!). Will they fight a dragon? Save a village of pixies? Or get stuck in a dungeon and eat each others' shoes? Anything can happen! Your characters, your locations; their very fate is in your hands. A fantasy fun filled show for all.
  • MCM Pub Quiz
    • Sunday 3:50pm-4:50pm
    • Test your geeky knowledge at our ultimate nerdy pub quiz! From sci-fi to gaming, anime to comics—gather your team and battle it out for trivia glory! Teams should be 6 people max. No need to sign up, just turn up and check in with the Fringe Stage team!
