Sumo Videogames Announces New Studio Director
Tuesday 21 July 2020, Pune, India | Sumo Videogames, a Sumo Digital Studio and part of Sumo Group PLC, has today announced that Stewart Neal has been appointed as the new Studio Director.
“For the past six years, I’ve spent most of my time at Sumo with the team in Pune. I’ve formed great bonds and witnessed them grow from strength to strength. It’s a very exciting prospect to help further the growth of a team I have an enormous amount of respect for, broadening their already formidable skill base, and ultimately creating a truly world class studio,” commented Neal.
“It’s great to provide another opportunity for a member of the team to further their career inside Sumo. Stew was an ideal choice for this role because of his relationship with the team in India; he has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to their success and will continue to forge the close relationship between his team and the UK studios, splitting his time between India and the UK, with the majority of his time spent in Pune,” added Gary Dunn, MD Sumo Digital.
Stewart has more than fifteen years of experience in the games industry, six years of which he spent at Sumo. During this time, Stewart worked on titles such as Crackdown, Forza Horizon and Hitman.
Stewart also spent time at Codemasters where he was involved in projects including GRiD, DiRT and Formula 1.
Established in 2007, Sumo Videogames is a game development studio working alongside its sister studios in the UK, with a focus on providing high quality animation, code, design and graphics for gaming platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and PC.
Sumo Videogames has a track record that includes some of the world’s biggest intellectual properties, with recent hits including Team Sonic Racing (SEGA), LittleBigPlanet 3 (Sony), and elements of the Forza series (Microsoft).
