THE INFINITE FORBIDDEN BRINGS THE YU-GI-OH! TRADING CARD GAME BACK WHERE IT ALL BEGAN WITH THE UNSTOPPABLE EXODIA

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. (KONAMI) is delighted to announce the brand-new core booster set The Infinite Forbidden is out now for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) in Europe and Oceania.

One of the most highly anticipated sets of the year, The Infinite Forbidden returns the game to where it all began with a new strategy featuring the unstoppable Exodia! If that wasn’t enough, with this exciting set Duelists can get their hands on no less than 100 new cards in all – supporting a variety of strategies, new and old, including a thrilling new World Premiere Theme!

The brand-new Exodia Fusion Monster is certainly a highlight here – The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate is most certainly set to strike fear in the hearts of even the most experienced Duelists this summer! This relentless monster can’t be destroyed by card effects and can add your current Life Points to Attack Points every turn – meaning that even if it doesn’t obliterate your opponent at once, it’ll only become stronger the turn after! Through its mastery of ancient powers, this new Fusion Exodia can cancel 1 Spell or Trap activation of your choice every turn AND it fetches an Exodia-themed Spell/Trap from your Deck each turn for YOU to use. The only cost to using this incredible monster is that it’ll claim 1000 of your own Life Points during your Standby Phase. A small price to pay for its incredible power!

But Exodia is not the only nod to the original anime that we’ll see in this set – the new ”Millennium” theme is certain to remind you of the Millennium World story arc, with spiritual monsters being called forth from great Egyptian stone tablets to do battle. Using some Millennium Magic of your own, you’ll be able to either infuse your monsters with your own life force (or Life Points in this case) or utilise the magic of Millennium Ankh to Special Summon them to the field.

The set also introduces the new “White Forest” theme into the TCG, spinning a tale of witches, woods, and Synchro Summons. An exciting new “Fiendsmith” strategy also comes into play – granting you access to an incredible arsenal of Fusion and Link Monsters. Duelists will also find a whole bunch of support for many fan-favourite themes in The Infinite Forbidden, but one more highlight to certainly not miss out on is the World Premiere Theme of “Mimighoul” – an adventurous, dungeon-crawling strategy that revolves around gifting your opponent some wonderful treasure boxes with nasty surprises inside! The “Mimighoul” theme is all about FLIP effects, ones that you’d certainly want to activate on your opponent’s side of the field.

With The Infinite Forbidden coming out shortly before the prestigious European World Championship Qualifier taking place in Berlin on 26th-28th July, we are sure to see the set make some big waves on the competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! scene. Will we witness someone getting trapped in the “Mimighoul”’s dungeon? Or deceived by the witches of the “White Forest”? Or will we see a Duelist obliterate their opponents with the unstoppable Exodia on their way to earn their invitation to the World Championship in Seattle this September?

Duelists who can’t attend the European WCQ in person will be able to follow all the action live on the official European YouTube and Twitch accounts, starting from Friday afternoon with the final matches of the World Qualifying Points Playoff.

The complete The Infinite Forbidden set includes 100 new cards: 10 Secret Rares, 14 Ultra Rares, 26 Super Rares and 50 Commons. 24 of these cards are also available as Quarter Century Secret Rares, and 1 special card is only available as a Quarter Century Secret Rare.
